According to Alison Chen, “[Shakespeare] is widely regarded as the greatest writer of the English language, and the world’s pre-eminent dramatist”. William Shakespeare created an immense amount of works such as plays and sonnets that are still being performed and reproduced numerous times to this day. One of the many reasons why Shakespeare is wildy influential, even after his death, is because of how his many works have touched on subjects or issues that are relevant topics that relate to people in modern day and how his droves of innovative works challenge the basics of writing and language style, causing his work to still be communicated in classrooms today (Garber).
William Shakespeare’s discussion of themes such as tragedy and courage that are incredibly relevant today is a factor as to why Shakespeare as a writer holds relevance in today’s society and curriculum. “His plays delve into the issues of love, loss, honor..fear, courage, and wonder” (Smith). His contribution to the development of many student’s educations label him as an extremely influential artist to this day, as his work is still being communicated and challenging young minds. (Blocksidge). Shakespeare’s influence is illustrated through his creating of “many of the ideas that we think of as "naturally" our own and even as "naturally" true” (Garber). Shakespeare’s writing “is an inevitable and necessary part of school” due to the fact that his works were revolutionary and brand new when they were first written, sparking a new style of writing solely inspired by Shakespeare’s intelligence as a writer (Blocksidge). His renowned works are still discussed to this day because of how advanced his writing was and is to this day; this contributed to Shakespeare being deemed one of the the greatest english writers
