The negative stereotypes that are fueling these recruiter’s perceptions vary within this article. In any organization and throughout life, stereotypes will be present and have an effect on many aspects of life. Stereotypes are not always defined as a bad thing, they are more of a generalization (Kanahara, 2006). In this case situation, World Wide Panel LLC is placing applicants in two different stereotypes. An example of a stereotype is saying that all bowlers are not good at other sports. This is a stereotype towards bowlers because bowlers have now been inserted into a group that is being singled out by an opinion. In this certain case, World Wide Panel is placing applicants in a group who cannot answer their key question the way they want it to be answered. Also, do to the applicant not being able to answer their key question, World Wide Panel LLC automatically believes that that certain applicant will not be a good fit for the job. This aspect is a negative stereotype because World Wide Panel LLC believes that the applicant in incapable of delegating tasks and lack awareness of their weaknesses (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013). …show more content…
