Flying into the Future
The first time anyone in the human race had flown an engine-powered airplane was on December 17, 1903, by the Wright Brothers in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. How have the Wright Brothers positively impacted the way the world now travels? The Wright Brothers had an early introduction to aviation; this was a result of toys their father gave to them early on in their lives. Ever since they received the toys, they had been taking apart things just to figure out how they worked, and then put them back together. They were influenced by many different things throughout their lives to build the airplane; most of their inspiration was given to them by their family. This forever changed the face of travel. The Wright Brothers’ invention of the airplane opened up the door for people to travel themselves and transport other goods around the world. It gave militaries the chance to have the upper hand in battle, and even gave nations the win in certain battles. The invention of the airplane gave people the idea of space travel and made it possible for the United States to plant a flag in the soil of the moon. The brothers figured out that failure was one thing that drove them the most. After the terrible the year in Kitty Hawk, they rebounded and quickly made the Wright Flyer. After the crash with Lieutenant Selfridge Thomas, Orville healed quickly and they improved the Flyer and made the first ever two passenger airplane, which they never crashed once. The brothers created a new kind of transportation and a new way to travel great distances quickly. Wilbur and Orville were great pilots and some of the greatest aviators the world had ever
