In this course, I have learned quite a few things about writing. I believe the most helpful thing I have learned is how to revise a draft. Before this course, my final drafts would often look very similar to my first draft, which is a very bad sign. However, now that I have taken this course I feel that my revising skills are much better. For example, I am now able to compare my drafts and see where I made changes and why I made those changes. The assignments that helped me the most on this were the peer critiques and the sentence level revision (BA 4). These assignments gave me firsthand experience on reviewing a draft as well as how to improve it.

I am now able to make sure that my source provides the information that I need it to provide in order to support my claims. …show more content…

However, the writing I did in this course really did transfer to that course as well. For example, for each unit I was required to write a blog post that addresses a specific topic. In order to get full credit I was required to cite sources to back up my claims. Therefore, I used a lot of the skills I learned in this course about using sources. I was able to find sources that were relevant, incorporate them into my writing, and cite them properly, all because of this course. I believe these skills will also transfer to the writing I will be required to do in my future
