The purpose of this memorandum is to provide an overview to the Board of Education regarding the pros and cons of establishing the first charter school (commonly referred to as “school choice”) in our school district. Its proponents argue parents should have the right to use tax dollars for charters to achieve higher standards and better student outcomes. And, secondly, “How are character school operated”?
While interviewing school counselor, Melissa Gomes from Friendship Southeast Elementary Public Charter School, I was able to obtain a lot of information pertaining to a school counselor’s profession. Although, I have acquired plenty of information about a school counselor occupation throughout the last year and half of attending Trinity, the interview was very beneficial and knowledgeable. Ms. Gomes gave great insight that allowed for a better understanding of a school counselors role. Ms. Gomes was kind enough to answer several different questions pertaining to her role and responsibilities as a school counselor. Virtuous physicians always asses the decision making capacity and the competence of their patients to make sure they have adequate capacity to make their own decisions, especially for patients who refuse specific treatment, have mental illness, or have specific factors that impair their ability to make decision( _1). What make a patient competent to make a decision? , and do depressed people lose their competence and their decisional capacity? . Depression is a common side effect of cancer (2), and cancer treatment require a lot of important decisions that patients need to make which are very significant in determining their future, and respecting patient will is fundamental in term of autonomy, but what if the patient refuse the treatment, if the doctor consider him as non-autonomous he also will think about his duty in non-maleficence and about his responsibility in supporting and respecting patient wishes.
Since gaining knowledge of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) it has fascinated me. Upon learning about this amazing opportunity my plans for the future changed. I had already planned the classes for all four years of high school but the opportunity to attend IMSA would be far more suitable for me and would bring far better learning experiences. I was beginning to normalize my plans for the future in comparison to that of my peers at Quincy Senior High School. I often hear my peers saying that they want to drop out as soon as they are legally able to.
While creating this Behavior Change Plan for Joseph, it was important to look into each aspect of his life. By documenting the different behavior challenges throughout the set period of time, we were able to connect with the true issues Joseph was having. After reading over them, it was clear that Joseph’s main struggle was to stay on task. When we graphed the data, it showed that his highest form of distraction was his escape. F. What problem areas in their life might this student be able to have some control over? Much of Nick’s problem areas in his life are not what I would consider areas that he can control without support from others right now. His age, 6 years old, means that he relies more on the modeling and direction of others right now. Overall, Nick is not a student that is a problem of any kind with behavior within the classroom.
