Effects of a physical barrier can be that the child may be involved in an accident, this would occur as there is a higher chance for risk if the nursery does not suit a wheel chair. An example of this would be if there are allot of stairs in a nursery a child in wheel chair may hurt themselves while trying to get themselves up. Due to the building of the nursery it would become difficult for a disabled child or parent to access the nursery. This being said there are also methods to prevent this barrier for example a new building with level grounds or a secure area for parents to park pushchairs.

First thing that I had to do for this paper was read chapter two from the textbook Among Cultures. In this chapter there were eight very short quizzes to do. I had to do this for each of the eight world views. This chapter helped sum up different styles and ways of communication. During circle time, the teacher said, “Okay, can someone raise their hand and tell me how to say good morning in German?” Not only have I seen the children say good morning and hello in other languages, the teacher taught them how to sing the days of the week in Spanish. I watched the children count to ten in German.

As an educator I have different strategies to follow to enrich children’s understanding and respect for cultural identities within the service’s community. First, I need to know the family of the child. If necessary I will investigate or research on the culture of the child’s family culture in order to relate and communicate better to the parents. Second, I will inquire knowledge from other staff, friends, family and other people to perform well in promoting friendly social cultural relationship with the family of the child.
