Feminism is a very hot topic in the United States nowadays.There are a lot of hot topic issues that feminist talk about a lot, that may or may not be true.In her article “ 6 Feminist Myths That Won't Die.”Christina Hoff Sommers discusses six myths she believes people that consider themselves feminist might believe.Christina Hoff Sommers uses ethos and logos to strongly argue why people shouldn’t believe these statistics but fails to use pathos.
What Hoff Sommers does correctly, she does remarkably well.Throughout her debunking of myths feminist might believe, Hoff Sommers provides quality data to refute statistics that are given. She routinely quotes actual factual statistics from reliable sources, like accredited universities and newspapers. Along with strengthening her credibility, it also shows that her opposition lacks credibility.By showing their statements aren’t credible, the reader is more likely to listen to what she says and disregard what her opposition says.She uses multiple different types of credible sources for finding her data, such as universities and newspapers.She demonstrates that just because someone in a powerful organization, like the United Nations, doesn’t mean you should just blindly believe what they say.
