Growing up in Africa , I saw children and young people fail to achieve their full potential because of no education due to barriers they faced.

This motivated me towards wanting to make a positive impact in the lives of children and young adults.

Over the last 10 years, I have supported and taught various age groups in various settings to learn daily life and social skills and reach their full potential.

Through my local school, I have volunteered 2 hours every week ,as a class room assistant. It is a rewarding experience and I absolutely love partaking in the planning of and implementing of stimulating class room activities with the children and seeing them take part and learn. Recently I was working in a classroom and observed the teacher use a reward chart to reward positive behaviour during lessons,this improved the behaviour of the children who were disruptive to the class as they wanted a reward. however I also noticed

The experience in the classroom has also taught me that teaching is challenging, however my enthusiasm ,coupled with dedication and patient nature will make sure that I stay focussed.

I have also had the opportunity to volunteer as a parent helper at a creche for 0-3 years old at my local church ,on as required basis. I have enjoyed planning age related activities that have enabled the childdren develop social skills, seeing their faces light up when its story time
