Personal Problem Statement and Action Plan Action Objective/Problem Statement: In the next 2 years, I need to improve on my people skills and presentation skills. I will also need to gain more hands on experience that will help me improve these 2 skills. AMA also competes in national competitions. I worked with students to determine some SWOT analysis for a company. I put my marketing skills to use in this club by conducting a SWOT analysis. The most valuable aspect of this club is the professionals that come in as guest speakers to give students advice and suggestions for the real world. Being involved in this club is a taste of what working in a marketing firm for companies will really be like. I was able to have my picture taken in a professional setting to use in my professional social media profiles. I was expected to dress professionally, and act professionally to the Employers. I was able to use my 30-second elevator pitch and also talk with professionals about career choices and opportunities. I handed out my resume to a few company professionals that outlined my skills. I was able to talk to students and peers about our career goals and expectations as well as professionals about job Opportunities. Even if the companies are not interested in me, I was still able to gain experience talking with professionals. In the future, to get a job, I must be able to talk with employers in a professional and formal setting. The career fairs are practice runs to perfect my skills in this department before I must move in to the real world. It also gives me chance to have my resumes in company’s hand and also to network and build a community of networks that may come in handy in my future.
