Abortion
Abortion is a very contradicting topic. Many believe it is inhumane and murderous, but others say it isn't a big deal because the baby isn't born yet. Abortion is not ethical under any circumstances because it is murdering an unborn child. Women have abortions for many reasons. One of the main reasons is they do not have the money they need to support their child, or medical insurance. Also, some women are afraid they will be judged by their peers or are embarrassed about the pregnancy. This is common in mainly teenagers. Quite a few abortions are forced upon by parents as well. It is not always the case where the pregnant woman choose this way of handling her pregnancy. Another reason why women choose to have an abortion is because they claim it is not the right timing (Terwilliger). This is mostly aimed towards teenagers and young adults trying to finish up their education in either high school or college. They may also be involved in other things that are more important than having a child at that particular point in time, in their opinion. …show more content…

During the first and second trimester, Medical abortion can be performed. This would be done by taking drugs, such as Mifepristone, to end the pregnancy. No surgery is needed for medical abortion. Surgical abortion requires surgery and removes all contents from the uterus. This can be done in a lot of different ways such as suction curettage, dilation and evacuation, and induction. When ongoing the first and second trimester of your pregnancy, suction curettage and dilation and evacuation can be performed. During the third trimester, induction can be done. There is also a another procedure for abortion, but it became illegal in the United States in 2007. It’s called intact dilation and extraction
