In life, there are many controversial subjects that create issues that surround us. One of these subjects is called abortion, the act of removing a fetus or embryo from the uterus. While some individuals believe that women carrying a baby should have freedom on what they can do with their bodies (pro-choice), others believe that abortion is a taboo, a sin that you’re killing a baby when you commit abortion (pro-life). I believe that in any circumstance, abortion should be legal because of health reasons, undesired situations, and freedom.
When a female is producing a baby, the baby takes away a lot of nutrients from their mother in order to grow. Due to this, the female body goes through a lot of strain of tension. As a result, many pregnant women may develop health issues such as anemia or hypertension which endangers the mother’s life. If an abortion occurs, the embryo or fetus will die off and the female will be free of providing nutrients to the baby. This ends the stress the female receives, helping her recover and potentially saving her life. In fact, the risk of death with childbirth is about 14 times higher than a legal abortion. …show more content…

Aside from health concerns, women should be able to abort an unwanted baby if they wanted to. If abortion wasn’t legal, women would have to endure about 9 months of pregnancy while being traumatized from the fact that they were raped, had an incestuous relationship or from carrying an unwanted baby. Unwanted and unplanned babies most likely have parents who aren’t financially ready to care for it, making it difficult to support themselves and the baby at the same time.
