I was thinking about majoring in Psychology”, was my reply. “Well when I was in College I noticed that all the people who gravitated towards Psych did it because they had problems they wanted to solve. I think you can do better than that. Maybe you are not ready for College. Have you ever considered the Military?
I will be attending graduate school in order to further develop my interest in clinical psychology that has been fostered during my undergraduate years. I anticipate to receive my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology during the summer of 2017 from Hunter College. I am especially interested in researching about the vulnerability factors that influence individuals’ susceptibilities to psychosomatic disorders, anxiety disorders, as well as psychopathologies. Ultimately, I seek to be in a research position along with being trained as a clinical therapist. Further along the line, I intend on becoming a professor, and to inspire new generations of students to become motivated and interested in psychology just as my professors inspired me.
I do expect to receive a Bachelor 's degree in Psychology so that I can get my Masters in Psychology. I 'm free-spirited, an open-minded

Without the mind, it would not be possible to know how one is feeling, or that blue and orange are the best colors. The mind and its functions are of interest to me, because of this I have decided to pursue a career in psychology. In completing a psychology degree, I will have a better understanding about research and the steps that go into publishing papers. Seeing as I will have better understanding of the research that goes on in the field of psychology, it will be possible to answer my own questions and test other’s work. Hi future self! I cannot believe you are reading this letter in the future that you wrote to yourself a couple of years ago. I know you had a difficult time choosing a major and sticking to it which leads me to my question, did you end up graduating as a Psychology and Criminal Justice major like you planned? As a Psychology major, I hope to learn how to help individuals overcome their problems. Many times when an individual is faced with issues in their life, he or she may shut down or act irrationally and I want to be able to prevent this from happening.
When I was considering my options for 4-year institutions, finding a good university that offered psychology as a bachelor of science was a struggle. Many universities did not offer this option for their students, and limited a comprehensive branch of science such as psychology into a narrow space that it did not deserve. As I mentioned in my personal statement, I aspire to become a neuropsychologist whose main focus is to research specific brain disorders and their effects on human behaviors. I am focused more on the neurological side of the psychology, and crave a program that will provide me with resources from both fields. Therefore, when I learnt about Yale and its Neuroscience Track for psychology students, I felt like I found the best
The golden question seems to be why human beings behave the way that they do – a simple question yet a question that millions have failed to answer. Before taking Psychology as an A level, naivety allowed me to believe that the answer to this question was seemingly transparent. Visiting places such as Sachsenhausen concentration camp in Germany and the site of the World Trade Centre in the United States really made me contemplate about what leads people to take such drastic measures, could it be that there was something mentally wrong with them or can the feeling of hatred really be that strong. This is why I aspire to have a career in Psychology. Whilst applying for college, I made the decision to take Psychology as an A level simply out of curiosity; shortly after beginning my course I knew that two years would not be enough to satisfy my desire to comprehend this subject and the constant feeling that I have so much more to learn excites me.
Plans and Goals for Future in Psychology: Psychology Paper Introduction After recently changing my major to Psychology I have created different goals that I wish to accomplish with this major. Learning more about the psychology major has allowed me to create a strategy to follow to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and to have a successful career in psychology. Besides viewing this process as a foundation for future knowledge and abilities, I have been anticipating this stage of gaining deeper and professional knowledge in psychology for a long time. To summarize, this goal is elicited from my passion and enthusiasm for psychology, to remain focused throughout these three years, instead of gaining fame or impress others. After graduation, I want to engage in a job related to psychology, allowing me to serve others by applying the knowledge learnt. It may not need to be anything very great; I just hope to contribute to the society’s wellbeing, whether it is in the clinical setting, corporate world or any other aspects. Most importantly, I hope to raise awareness and acceptance towards mental disorders.
