Army Ranger School, Special Forces, Airborne School, Air Assault School, and many more are considered to be challenging and rewarding. They separate you from your peers, give you advanced training and experiences that nobody else will get, and can elevate your military career to the next level. There is no doubt that female soldiers should have the right to go to these schools, and if they meet the criteria to pass then award them with the appropriate rewards. The issue currently with these schools is that female soldiers are treated differently and held to different standards than the male soldiers are. The instructors of these schools know that females are typically weaker and are more fragile than male soldiers are, and this causes them
More than 180,000 people join the military each year, you might think that a lot of people but it’s not. The U.S. military is 241 years old and is bigger than it was when it started but if more people do not start joining it will soon cease to be in existence. The U.S. military has issues with wussification, their budget, tactical training, and regulations.
Leaving the military may have been the best and worst decision I have made during my life. The financial stress that has come from not having a job is almost more than I can handle. Adjusting to this new non-institutionalized life is very different than what I have become used to. Not being told how to do this or that every day is one change I enjoy. One of the outcomes of leaving the military that I dislike is not having a paycheck every two weeks.
They had requested 5 Drill Instructors from MCRD (Marine Corps Recruit Depot) Parris Island to come train us for a weekend. As I stood there with rest of my platoon, listening to the Drill Instructors say that “We were the sorriest bunch of poolees they had ever seen in their life” , I thought to myself “Why did I join the United States Marine Corps?” We waked up in the morning to screaming DI’s and shuffled into formation. For the rest of the day we were performing for our Drill Instructors.

Leading the way in global defense, the US military is a force to be reckoned with. Having a strong military not only ensures the freedom and safety of American citizens, but ensures that it is able to protect and defend those around the world that cannot defend themselves. Like many of the US federal and state institutions, the military is currently facing steep budget cuts.

Curiosity led me to explore various subjects during my undergraduate career at Humboldt State University. Constantly changing the course of my education ultimately began to hinder my academics, which led to uncertainty about my future. I felt the pressure. I could hear the time clock running down, yelling, “Vivian, pick a major already!” As I considered every possible subject, it became evident that my strong involvement in sports could develop into a career path.
Military service can be described as the services offered by an individual, a group, or any other militia with the main aim of protecting or defending a country against external invasion as well as promote peace. Across the globe, different countries utilize diverse recruitment techniques to get the people to join the military service, such as the army, air force, navy, and marines. These techniques often include mandatory and voluntary military service. There several benefits and limitations associated with either approach, particularly for a country that doesn’t combine both in their military service while recruiting employees to their armed forces. Voluntary military service is usually considered to be the best approach to staffing a country’s military branches as compared to mandatory or compulsory service.
There were a lot of ups and downs while there. Many of the other cadets complained about the challenges we faced, but in the end we all worked as a team to accomplish the
I remember screaming on top of my lungs and wanting to fight anyone who stood in front of me. After the long drama, one of my friend offer to give me a ride and drop me off at my apartment. I woke up the next day crying and wanting to go back in Iraq. I felt like they needed me and I missed my friends, they are my family.
Then I decided I wanted to be a teacher but before I could start taking those class education was no longer a major at Johnson C. Smith University. From that step I had to two choices either transfer schools or change majors. I did not want to transfer school because I really like Johnson C. Smith University. So then I begin to research the different majors that were left at Johnson C. Smith University.
Our first assignment was to write a short response paper to the Albert Camus essay “The Myth of Sisyphus.” I was extremely nervous about the assignment as well as college. However, through all the confusion in philosophy class, many of my questions about life were answered. I entered college intending to earn a degree in engineering. I always liked the way mathematics had right and wrong answers.
As a freshman I did not have interest in any particular field. But I soon realized having a decided direction from the get go would be to my benefit. Of all the available majors psychology seemed like the best option. My initial interest in studying people came from my parents. My mother studied sociology and my father studied psychology.
I’m guessing it transferred to my adult life. Add in the over the top training and I became a lean, mean, black ops machine. The pay was good, though I still have problems sleeping at night. Kind of a moot point now, what with my three months or so left to live.
As someone who has always enjoyed trying new things, one of the academic qualities that attracted me to this institution is the Study Abroad program. I have a passionate tendency toward trying new things, such as, when I was only five years old I was playing catch in the yard with my father. I decided that I really enjoyed throwing a ball back and forth, though simple. From then on I decided I wanted to play baseball. Throughout this endeavor, I stayed involved with baseball for nine more years, during both spring and fall.
