I hope to bring diversity to all who walk on the campus. My background has shaped me into the intelligent African American woman I am today. Without growing up in the “hood”, I may have not been able to find the best career that interested me. I also would not have been able over all the challenges thrown at me. Instead I remained determined and motivated so that I was able to achieve all of the goals set before me.
Nonetheless, I wish to attend a school that I 'm proud to display any and everywhere. One that I could brag about to all my friends and family. USC Upstate is growing in the same way I am. We both want to get bigger and better. To be known nationally for all its strengths.
My future plans include going off to Utica College for nursing. I have known my major since I was five years old and my education that has been provided has only encouraged my decision. Even though I am going off into the medical field, my time spent playing sports, being in the drama club, national honors society, and participating in community has actually influenced my decision to do so. The mission statement to be educationally affective and academically effective has been shown through and through here at Little
Just as with many of my previous academic moments it continued the drive I had already had. While my education continued to teach me valuable lessons and give me hands on experience I began to gain a stronger sense rooted in development and the protection of others by hopefully continuing my education at Loyola University Chicago in the Masters of Social Work/Masters of Arts in Social Justice Program which would give me the opportunity to not only eventually become a social worker with the Department of Social Services (DSS), with a school, or a guardian ad litem but to do that work effectively with the chance that would be afforded to me of an academic background steeped in social work as well as social justice teachings. This program in particular continues the undergraduate work and furthers my education on my path to my
There are no boundaries or walls that will limit my potential and goals at NYU. Instead of being confined in a small box, I would be able to step outside of the box and explore the countless opportunities that New York City has to offer. There are even more
Ever since I was a freshman, NYU has always been appealing to me. Not only is it centered in one of the most beautiful and opportunistic cities in the world, it’s also known for its academic rigor, an important requirement that I’m looking for in whichever college I choose to attend. Even though since I started looking at colleges my intended major has changed a couple of times, NYU has always been on my list as my so you call “dream school”. Of all the schools I’m applying to, I believe that I would receive the most fulfilling college experience from this institution. This is due to the fact that being centered in New York City provides a lot of opportunities for networking, which will be especially helpful to my future career as a dietitian.
In the next four years of my life at Furman, I plan to cultivate a spirit of discovery, collaboration, and civic engagement. Because Furman is a liberal arts institution I believe that there will be so many chances to discover things I have never even heard of before. I plan on joining multiple organizations including the Heller Service Corps and the Shucker Center for Student Leadership. I believe that being a part of both of these organizations will allow me to not only expand my horizons and learn new things but help people at the same time. I will also be able to discover amazing new things by studying abroad.
The positive environment encouraging students to strive for excellence with the help of amazing teachers at Mitty is what I am looking for. I am looking forward to my life at Archbishop Mitty and am extremely excited to be able to immerse myself in an elite education, while honing my skills in various co-curricular activities and helping the community. I have always believed in hard work and dedication, qualities which lay the foundation for success. This has reflected in my grades and achievements in elementary and middle school. Therefore, transitioning into a solid academic curriculum that Mitty offers will be beneficial to my education.
The overall York College experience has assisted me in achieving three major life goals. The first goal, working in a human resource generalist position, is greatly advanced by my academics. In order to achieve a human resource generalist position, I must have a human resource management degree; not only does York College provide this, but it puts me ahead of other human resources majors by requiring me to take a wide variety of business courses during my first couple years. These courses construct a well-rounded business foundation that grants me more diverse knowledge and increases my versatility - this in turn makes me more valuable to employers in the future. My second goal, making a difference in the lives of others through service, is
Moreover, I have grown to become a charismatic, strong, courageous, brave, and optimistic young adult that can and will insinuate a difference in society. I wish to inspire people one day and hopefully stir up some deep emotions that reminds them about the finer aspects of life. With my best foot forward, I am dedicated, if given the chance, to taking advantage of all the resources and opportunities that Montclair State University has to offer me, all while keeping other people’s best interest in mind as well while doing
I learned to prioritize and stay on top of multiple projects while maximizing my service as a Student Worker. Working alongside with a team of enthusiastic individuals has taught me to always have a positive attitude and to be passionate about every aspect of the job. As a NYU CAS Transfer Orientation volunteer, I had a great experience collaborating with other dynamic team members. As a team of previous transfer students, we understood the fear, confusion, and uncertainty one could have as a new transfer. We incorporated our experience to design individualized activities to smoothen the transitions of the new transfers into the NYU community.
As I become more conscious, as Baldwin says, I analyze the society in which I was being educated and I try to look on how I can further improve my society. I have a lot to learn and I hope that at Syracuse University I can earn the education to become more conscious and continue helping my society
We are inspired by many different qualities we see in people throughout our daily lives; however, the people I most admire exemplify compassion, integrity, and determination. Compassion is a quality that I hold close to my heart, and not only do I intend on strengthening that quality in myself, but I also hope to inspire others to be more compassionate. I strive to be a person of integrity by consistently treating others with honesty and respect. I also dream of becoming someone who is passionate about expanding my view of the world and different cultures. I can see Syracuse University helping to shape me into this better version of myself.
I have many diverse and creative pursuits. As such I believe that Brown University is a natural fit for my holistic academic ambitions. Brown's open curriculum is the thing that excites me most about the institution. The prospect of pursuing my passions at a truly holistic institution excites me. Coming from South Africa the diversity of Brown's student body was another immediate attracting factor.
For example, at a young age, I had always wanted to be a leader. I have developed the drive to be the best leader, athlete, and student without losing sight of what is important. To be given the opportunity to continue to better myself at such a respected and prestigious university is almost
