I believe as a returning student to ISU, I had a unique experience in the class. I graduated with a degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services in May and decided that teaching was my true passion so I returned to Iowa State to begin earning that degree. I have worked for about four years for United Community Schools as a Lead Childcare Associate and as a Substitute Associate in both preschool and special education. Additionally, I have spent time as a Special Education Associate in Ankeny and have volunteered in Ames Community School District Classrooms. With my experience, I have spent a lot of time in schools and in classrooms.
I have always been involved beyond the classroom with the schools I attend. I attended King Kekaulike High School in Maui. My freshman year, I was an active member in Interact club, a local service club. I was also on the junior varsity volleyball team and the girls varsity soccer team. I was the team captain for the girls varsity soccer team at KKHS both my junior and senior year.
I’ve always wanted to live in the city, and going to NYU has the advantage over west coast cities since I would be close to my family. The summers of my younger years were spent with my grandparents in New York City. I remember looking out at awe as I rode the subway across the Manhattan bridge. During the school year, my family would often go on the weekends from our home in New Jersey into Manhattan to have some dim sum and go shopping. Of course, the city also has practical features.
Fast-forward to the year 2022. The nonprofit tutoring organization I started as a sophomore in high school, which supports low-income families in the Chicagoland area, can expand due to the resources and experiences NYU has imparted to me as an undergraduate student. NYU’s commitment to research in financial fields, social internship opportunities, and a global academic scope allow for me to not only continue a dream I began at fifteen, but to open my eyes to new ways of approaching problems. To begin with, NYU enriches opportunities beyond the classroom by offering hands-on initiatives, such as the Stern Program for Undergraduate Research, which gives me the opportunity to utilize the vast resources available in New York City to conduct
I am writing this statement because it has been a goal of mine to attend the University of Chicago for a Master’s in Business Administration. I believe that this program will further develop the skills I have learned in the agricultural sector as well as my critical thinking ability to solve and manage issues within today's changing agribusiness field. I have always had an interest in business. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would always say a businesswoman, it varied occasionally from a CEO to a Stockbroker, I knew from a young age that I wanted to work in business. During my time in grade school, I was ridiculed for being too interested in group work and wanting to take charge and lead the group not only to success
NYU is my first choice for many reasons. It is well known that NYU has a long history as it was established in 1831 by Albert Gallatin with the intention to set up “a system of rational and practical education fitting for all and graciously opened to all.” YNU is one of the largest private universities in the United States and now enrolls over 50,000 students worldwide in its three campuses in New York City, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai. I am interested in finance and business and NYU Stern program of Business is my ideal place for my future study. In this school B.S., M.B.A., and Ph.D. degrees are offered and students may specialize in course related to business and finance, like accounting, finance, marketing, and international business, which
For the last couple of years my biggest goal has become to study, live, work and succeed in the New York City. I’m particularly interested in NYU, because I am careerist with a lot of determination and perseverance, willing to work as hard as possible to reach my main goal, of succeeding in the entertainment industry. While visiting NYC last year, I got the impression that no university represents NYC, the city of opportunities to me, better than NYU does. NYU’s diversity and the opportunities that it provides to the hardworking students are priceless and is something that undeniably attracts me a lot. I have expressed interest in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development as my primary program of interest and Media,
Engineering is creative. Students in NYU are required to think-outside-the-box. And the professors are here to help. Fascinating by Professor Ryan Hartman’s Methane Research on Green Energy, I am excited to incorporate my knowledge into creative research projects that can benefit people. Engineers in NYU design not only software or devices; they also introduce a new lifestyle to people.
Happiness: the emotional state I strive to be in every day. My top goal in life is to spend as many days as I can happy and therefore, I only want to do things that make me happy. That being said, I’m ecstatic to be attending NYU for music business because it is the only school with the academic program tailored specifically to my dream career. Academically, I not only want to gain as much knowledge about the music business as possible, but also learn how to apply everything that I’ve learned in class to my life. I’m confident that NYU will teach me massive amounts of information about the music business and how to be successful within it, and I believe that the university will make me question the status quo and challenge me to change it.
NYU has delivered solace to my life over the past years. When thinking about NYU, I receive the upmost amount of aspiration. I dream to prosper there; I dream to grow there: academically and spiritually. This school is beyond a cinch for me; this is a struggle, both internal and external, that I am hoping to conquer. I have worked extremely hard during my high school years to provide myself with a strong framework to enable myself to prosper in my future endeavors.
It’s hard to characterize anything with just one word, especially for a university that offers as many opportunities as the University of Chicago does. However, my attempt to describe the school would lead to this one word: quirky. Situated in the center of the city, one may expect the university to only be serious and hustle-bustle. While the University of Chicago does have a serious focus on academics, the thought-driven learning community it actually provides is perfect for a problem-solver like me.
New York is a city that I want to live in; And NYU offers the best finance program. I want to study in New York because New York is a very competitive and fast-paced city, which is similar to my hometown, Hong Kong. I believe that competitions make people grow, and fast dynamics urges us to better equip ourselves in a society that is full of changes. New York totally fits in to these conditions. Living in Massachusetts for 2 years, I feel that people here are so chill and never rush.
Our world is like a card game. We get dealt our hand. Win, lose, or draw, the game continues to unfold. Society is filled with a myriad of opportunities that act as cards waiting to be revealed. With the exposure to a plethora of opportunities in a university, from a global reach to academic centers on six continents to having the city as a classroom, one can easily unearth their passions at NYU.
The heart of New York City is New York University. By joining the network of NYU, I will be able to study at an institution that has a long tradition of academic excellence among private universities in the United States. Additionally, I will be able to be part of an internationally recognized learning network with locations all across the globe. It would be a pleasure to study at a globally recognized university. A friend of mine who is a recent graduate from NYU College of Nursing has praised the program and conveyed to me a very positive experience.
I was always being fascinated by how the human brain works. Being one of the members of the Group of Eight universities, UNSW is definitely one of the best universities in Australia and world’s top university. As for the subject of Psychology, UNSW is ranked 16th according to the 2016 QS World Ranking and that really caught my attention. I truly believed and hoped that UNSW specifically the UNSW School of Psychology will provide me with greater and deeper understanding in the field of psychology. The School of Psychology at UNSW is quite simply the best in Australia.
