Each year, there are 11,500 people serving jail time for a crime they didn’t commit. There’s an average of 975 innocent people locked up each year. People can get imprisoned on little to no evidence, which is what happened to Adnan Syed. In the true crime podcast Serial, Adnan Syed should not have been convicted for the murder of Hae Min Lee. Seeing that there's a scarcity of evidence, Jay Wilds story is not consistent, and Adnan had an alibi. There’s a scarce amount of evidence to convict Adnan Syed. For example, the hardest piece of evidence that is supposed to prove Adnan guilty is a fingerprint of his on a map found in Hae’s car.
