Gabby Lung Ms. Smith English 4, 3rd hour 12 April 2024. In the Case Against Adnan Syed, Adnan Syed was found guilty of killing his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee, and sentenced to life in prison. There are two camps of people, those who believe he is guilty and those who do not. In class we listened to the Podcast, Serial, by Sarah Koenig, and watched a documentary entitled, The Case Against Adnan Syed, by HBO. We tried to make a determination ourselves as to guilt or innocence. I believe that the evidence showed that Adnan is innocent and Jay Wilds and Jay’s attorney/lawyer were responsible for the wrongful conviction of Adnan. They wanted to make it seem like Adnan did it and ignored the evidence proving Jay committed the murder. Jay clearly was told what to say and what to do to get scot-free. Jay went with it instead of supporting his “friend”. He knew Adnan was innocent. Jay should have been charged when he admitted he “helped” Adnan get rid of the body. Jay even seemed suspicious and they didn't look any further into it but felt the need to keep creating new problems for Adnan. They wrongfully convicted Adnan to close the case. They only recorded a little of the interview they had with Jay because they didn't want him to say anything that went against their case. The police coached Jay and then interviewed him ”the police only recorded the part of the interview with Jay that they wanted people to hear” (HBO). The police protected Jay, not Adnan, because they all must have come to an agreement that Adnan was guilty. There was no physical DNA to even convict
