In “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury the characters are important because of how they develop the message. At the beginning of the story, Margot, the protagonist, feels excited because she thinks she will see the sun, which she hasn’t seen in seven years. Because the school children “don’t believe her”, they lock her in a closet. Soon after that, the sun comes out so the children play around outside, but they forget that Margot is still in the closest. After the sun disapears, they remember about Margot and they let her out. Even thougn they let her out, she still has to wait another seven years until she can see the sun again. So, I think the message of this story is that life can be very harsh. This means that life isn’t always fair
