The Canary, pilot, “Lady Lindy” and planes describes who Amelia Earhart is. After her first plane ride, she knew she wanted to fly planes herself. As a little girl she was active and adventurous with her sister by horse back riding, playing basketball, and fishing with their dad. When she got older, she became a pilot and started flying planes. She also was and author of several books. Amelia Earhart had many accomplishments and career.

Amelia Earhart’s life was full of adventure. Amelia Earhart was born in Atchison, Kansas on July 24, 1897. She saw her first plane at a state fair when she was 10 years old. During World War I, Earhart worked as a medical attendant's associate in Toronto, Canada. She helped with injured officers. On December 28, 1920, pilot Straight to the point, birds of prey gave her her first ride in an plane. Amelia took her to begin with flying lesson on January 3, 1921. Amelia’s to begin with plane was a shining yellow Kinner Airster that she nicknamed, "The Canary". While living in Boston, Amelia composed articles advancing flying in the neighborhood newspaper.
