The American Association of Retired Persons is an organization that works to the needs and interests of middle-aged and elderly people. This is open to all the elderly who are at the age of 50 or older, whether they are still working or retired. The American Association of Retired Persons has a goal to help older Americans remain physically and intellectually active by serving the elderly and helping them with whatever issues or problems that they are dealing with to be adjusted. This organization could not have done this by themselves so they partnered with another organization called the National Retired Teachers Association they obtain pension and health insurance benefits for retired educators, they play a part to the AARP by giving them the funds for the elderly and their expenses. For example, they provide the elderly with a health insurance program, special discounts on their automobile, credit union, and travel services. It also sponsors community-service programs such as crime prevention, defensive driving, consumer affairs, adult education, and counseling of widowed people. In addition to this it introduced a retirement planning program to the elderly so that they will be prepared for their finances in the future. Finally, it also offers a health topic, which gifts the elderly participants with the opportunity to exercise according to an activity schedule provided.
