Volunteering is an awesome way of giving back to your community and also while developing important social skills for example (affection, leadership, good communications skills, the ability to listen). These two establishments are very different, but that is the beauty of the vast amount of volunteer opportunities that exist. For example, at the American Red Cross, they provide services such as disaster relief, plasma donations, supporting American army families, health and safety services, and they also handle international services. The American Red Cross supports military members, veterans, and their families not only prepare for but cope and also respond to the difficult challenges of the military service and they offer access to community resources to help an average of 150,000 military families and veterans each year. The American Red Cross reacts to roughly 70,000 catastrophes in the United States each year running from home flames that affect a family to hurricanes that affect thousands and thousands of people and also to earthquakes that effect millions.
