Overview

Since Sioux Falls doesn't have that many bakeries, I think it would be a good idea to open one in the heart of Sioux Falls. The bakery would be called Cakes and Cupcakes. It would be on 41st Street since its the most busiest. Their isn't much bakeries where people can get bakery items so I think it would attract many people because it’s on a busy street and there isn't many bakeries in Sioux Falls.

Product or Service

My Bakery will offer a variety of bakery foods including pastries, cakes, pies, cupcakes, tarts, and other foods. All of the items will be made and cooked by me and my employees in the kitchen of the building. All of our items will be freshly baked each day so everything will be fresh. I think I can out run them because they are small businesses and mine will be on a busy street. Other competitors include bakeries in stores such as Sunshine, Walmart, etc. Sunshine has a bakery part in it and sells bakery foods in packages like Walmart. I also think I could out run them too because most of the stuff there isn't freshly made and its in packages. I would also paint the outside of the building with bright colors to attract more people and to be different from the other businesses. My business is more unique because I will have a bigger variety of foods and my building will be a bright color and not many bakeries are bright colors so it would stand out. Also there isn't a bakery on 41st Street so my business will be the only one. I think I could make a lot of money off of that. My bakery has many strengths and weaknesses. Like I already said my building will be a bright color, have a bigger variety of foods, its on a busy street, and my prices will be fairly low. My business doesn't have that much weaknesses other than some people might not want to go because people don't usually go to bakeries and it will be newly opened. I am thinking that we will need about 5 to start off with. If I think we will need more employees then I will hire a couple more. We will make all the items in the kitchen of the bakery. When we open we will have people be able to come in and buy some foods. If customers what something delivered or something custom, we can deliver it. We will need to either find a building for sale on 41st Street or we will need to build a building. We will need many supplies to start off. Things that we need include a cash register, display cases, and tables and chairs for the front. Things we will need in the back are ovens, refrigerators, freezers, counters, and supplies including stirring utensils, pans, bowls, ingredients to make the stuff, etc. Another thing that we will need is a van.
