We live in a society were not everyone thinks alike, we all have different beliefs and values. Especially right now with everything that is going on politically, we thought we were getting somewhere as a society, but we went backwards with our new president. In the 84 Lumber commercial that was broadcasted in this years super bowl their was a lot of controversy in what the commercial was meant to represent. In this commercial the company uses Pathos to catch the audience attention, the commercial is about a mother and her daughter going through obstacles to get to America. As I was scrolling down the comments on the commercial on youtube I encountered a lot of different reactions some were people just trolling, some were ignorant, some related to it in a different level and some understood the concept. Many people who seen the commercial thought the commercial was supporting illegal immigration and many trump supporters were threatening to boycott the company. The CEO Maggie Hardy Magerko made a public announcement stating “The intent of the Super Bowl commercial ... was to show that 84 Lumber is a company of opportunity,” and she also made it clear that she supports trumps and the wall is “a need,” but “if the President wants to build a wall, then we want to make sure there is a door in that wall — a door that’s open to those who choose to enter to our country legally”. The 84 lumber commercial seemed like it was supporting illegal immigration, but it’s really how you look at it and what you have been through.
