A boss is someone who manages a person’s work; usually they are more focused on him or herself and accomplishments. Great leaders have mastered the task of knowing how to identify the needs and fears of employees. Effective leaders of organizations and businesses value the unique abilities and unconventionalities of their employees. One who believe an effective leader is someone people follow. Leaders are held accountable for their actions and people tend to have higher standards and expectation for leaders; whether it’s as a member of a small organization or a chief executive officer (CEO) of a major cooperation. According to Business News Daily and author Linda Fisher- Thornton, there are seven steps to ethical leadership (Fernandes, 2017). The author gives advice on how to be an ethical leader; it’s not just about following rules and regulations. It’s about making consumers aware of the ethical behaviors. By conveying the ethics to stakeholders, employees, and consumers, people will be more willing to buy or work for the leader (Howell, J.P., & Costley, D.L. (2006). I decided to analyze Roz leadership skills by checking the reviews on Glassdoor.com. 53% of employees approved of the former CEO, and overall employees like the culture of the organization. Planning also means setting an organization’s goals and deciding how best to achieve the goals. As CEO of Sam’s Club, Rosalind Brewer’s faced challenges and hardships against Sam’s Club competitor, Costco Wholesale. She created a planning strategy for the competition from Costco Wholesale and lagging sales to small businesses; Roz introduced a group of services including a private health insurance exchange, access to payroll systems and legal services through a Sam's Club membership. “She also integrated the company's digital offerings, introducing Club Pick-up, where members can order goods online and fetch them at the store the same day or the next day” (Mohler, 2015). Knowing how important technology is to today’s consumers, Roz introduced a new strategy of mobile payment processing called Club Pick. Members of Sam’s Club have the convenience of ordering online with easy pick-up at the store. By creating these new systems and decisions, Roz took Sam’s Club to the next
