The ANC or African national congress was formed in the 1920s but its most famous time was from the 1940s to the 1990s in which blacks fought for equality. Some of the tactics this group used can be considered terrorism used by the more radical members but many of the other party supporters were seen as freedom fighters. Much of this argument is based on points of view. To an extent the ANC can be seen as terrorist however it can be justified that they were freedom fighters. It fought for the voiceless majority To the black Africans the ANC were what was needed so badly at that time and so was widely praised as a freedom fighting organisation as it is claimed that a freedom fighting organisation receives that title by the supporters. A freedom fighter is described as a person fighting for a specific reason in their respective territory or country. If the ANC had lost the fight and the apartheid government had extinguished the ANC struggle for freedom then the history books would be different thus like the quote by mark twain "history books are written by the victors" ,for example if examining the IRA or the Irish Republican Army who fought for a free Ireland from British colony control by using the same tactics in the same way as the ANC fighting for freedom however they lost and thus were labelled terrorist. This means that to a certain extent ANC owes there title to the fact that they won.
