I really enjoyed learning about this career. Anesthesiologists don’t just deal with the anesthetics, they are also actively monitoring the patient’s vitals, as well as assisting the surgeon with any help they may need. I was also very surprised to learn that they can sometimes work in offices. They don’t deal with patients at every time of day. However there were some aspects that I was already familiar with, this includes the time spent in school. I knew that in order to get accepted into medical school for anesthesiology, one must obtain a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree plus an extra four years of post-graduate instruction to obtain a Doctorate. I was also somewhat familiar with the average salary they are able to get. Although my initial estimate of $200,000 was a ways off from the actual salary of 352,686, I knew that this specific career receives a lot of money. …show more content…

I am so excited to be able to help others heal, and understand the processes in which healing takes place. Being an Anesthesiologist will allow me to get a front row seat in watching surgeries and other medical operations, plus I would be able to assist the operator with any needs he may have. Another reason why my interest level has gone up is because this job actually pays more than I was expecting, I am so excited to be able get paid a lot for the things that I love to do. I feel pretty prepared with the route I am taking to become an Anesthesiologist. I am already emphasizing my courses on math and science because those are the topics that I really enjoy. However currently the only issue I have is the student debt. For this career the debt accumulates to around $250,000. That is a lot of money, but what it comes down to is if I enjoy what I am doing, and that is what I really care about, a job that I can be happy
