The animal cruelty law should be updated and are being updated with the help of the American Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals organization and also the American non-profit Law organization. Animal abuse law topics range from neglect and cruelty to abuse. The definitions of animal abuse for cruelty and neglect range from not feeding the animals to intentionally doing physical harm.
The laws for animal cruelty and abuse need be updated to prevent the dangers of animal cruelty. These cruelty laws should be re-written to better protect the lives of innocent animals and the possible danger to other humans who might become a future victims of these people whose abuse often transcends to the abuse of people.

Some believe their freedom of speech and the first amendment are in jeopardy. Animal video crushing is where a well-dressed woman with high heels or bare feet smash small animals to death while the video is playing. The people who watch the crushing videos are usually sexually aroused by the videos. The cases for this type of cruelty usually hard to prove and the person in the video crushing the animal, usually only get zero to six months of prison, but more likely only probation. Research studies has proven that there is a correlation between animal abuse and domestic abuse in the home. Children also, will sometimes act out and abuse their pets. This can often lead them to further violence in their adult lives.
