Animal cruelty has been around for centuries and it has only grown, it is wrong and it should be stopped. Animal cruelty is done in many ways, including hitting, neglect and many more that are much worse. Animal cruelty is not right and should be stopped. Animal cruelty is shown in many ways. There are the basics of animal cruelty which involves hitting, kicking, starvation and more. There are also puppy mills and other mass breeding facilities where the conditions are terrible. Dog fights are a massive issue and many people think it’s ok to be cruel to animals or they don’t know what they are doing is wrong. Animal cruelty takes a number of forms. Many animals are kicked, hit, neglected, left to suffer when ill or hurt, make the animals live in direct sunlight and heat, allow strays into their homes which leads to mass breading of animals and disease as well as hording animals. Australian statistics have shown that males under 30 are more likely to intentionally abuse animals (there are still elderly people who do this) and women over 60 are more likely to hoard animals. In 2012 3,720,343 animals got mistreated, and the numbers have only increased since then. Each year around 10,000 dogs die because of illegal dog fighting. Some dogs make it out alive but are very injured and their owners try to be the "vets" instead of calling a proper vet, which can make the dog end up having serious mental as well as physical problems. Dog fights are illegal across Australia with no exceptions but unfortunately they still happen. Most owners who are involved in dog fights try to cover up what they are doing and are constantly on the move.
