Böhmann, T., Leimeister, J. M., & Möslein, K. (2014). Service systems engineering: A field for future information systems research. Business & Information Systems Engineering, 6(2), 73-79. doi:10.1007/s12599-014-0314-8 This article examines information systems in terms of service systems engineering. Some of the topics covered are systems development and design engineering. The article is only a few years old so it should be current and the information contained will be relevant to the subject being researched. The wealth of references provided by the authors give them credibility and reliability. The authors do not take a particular side of the discussion because they focus on providing facts with supporting references.

The authors discuss areas of focus such as storage and retrieval systems, innovations with information systems, and information resource management. This article is expected to be useful to the topic being researched because in today’s competitive markets organizations are going more and more global. The authors are affiliated with multiple universities around the world which gives them good credibility and reliability. The article contains data from only two projects related to global systems so bias is expected because data from two projects cannot represent the entire information system industry. It would have been better if the authors used data from many projects. However relevant information is still expected to be obtained from this article because it was published fairly …show more content…
Some of the topics covered are storage and retrieval systems, modeling, and design analysis. This is all important to the subject at hand because in order for an information system to be implemented successfully proper design techniques and theories must be incorporated. The author is a professor at the Australian National University and has many years of experience with information systems. This article contains an in-depth reference page which concludes that the article is a credible source for information. Given the fact that the article was published in 2006 it may not be completely reliable in terms of currency of information. The author does a good job at stating facts with proper references so bias is not expected. This article has usefulness to the research at hand keeping in mind not all information may be completely up to
