In this article there are a number of things a social worker can focus on to ensure that all the healthcare needs of the transgendered are met. It is the job of the social worker to provide support and resources. The social worker can work on changing the policies to include transgender people in healthcare coverage and including transgendered services such as hormonal therapy, operations, and wellness visits. Transgendered people have to pay for services out of pocket because there is no healthcare coverage for them. Counseling services, advocating for legislation to provide equal rights, and working on laws would ensure rights in receiving affordable adequate healthcare. A social worker providing intervention is very important when dealing with transgendered people. Interventions such as mental health services and family support services would be a great deal of help to individuals who feel they have nowhere to
