Numerous times, we see people and we think the worst thing first. Luckily for this week’s case study in the book, The Social Work Experience, An Introduction to Social Work and Social Welfare, by Mary Ann Suppes and Carolyn Cressy Wells, LaTonya was graciously given the opportunity to remedy her problem instead of the social worker just giving up on her and removing the kids. When Lauren offered LaTonya the help she needed to make decent choices, she empowered her to be the driver of her own success. In my experience we tend to be more successful when we feel as though we fixed a debauched situation instead of being made to fix the situation.
It is found that applying theory to practice may not always lead to the right conclusion, thus it establishes a precise approach to the social work process. The problem with choosing a particular point of view is that, whilst no particular theory is absolute, but when impartially applied, almost any can be used as theories as they are dynamic and always

GG Surrey ASYE supporting statement 2 I qualified as a Social Worker in July 2016 from London Southbank University; I am HCPC registered and would like to be considered for the ASYE programme. As a newly qualified social worker I am looking to achieve and develop my social work career, including the opportunity to complete the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE). Over the years, I have developed extensive experience of working with both children and adults from diverse social backgrounds as well as contributing positively to social care service delivery. I am reliable, considerate and have the flexibility to adapt to new roles, tasks and challenging situations; I am also able to negotiate through effective communication, and trust
Therefore, when I first met my supervisor named Zadock and he told me that there were more than 200 children at the children home, I assumed that there would be a large amount of work to complete before the school year started. However, Zadock explained to me that the first couple weeks I would be observing and supervising the children during their holiday program. At first, I was a little disappointed because I wanted to get an insight and a better understanding of what the social workers at Noah’s Ark do. He further explained that I needed to form relationships and get to know the children before the school year got started so it would be beneficial on both sides. Furthermore, as I am currently observing and getting know the children I am excited to learn and see
The social work practice was organized to provide relief to the community through social involvement. The social involvement involves participation with individuals and families affected by poverty, social injustice, starvation, immigration and mental health problems. There were many individuals who had contributed to the development of the social work practice. Jane Addams was responsible for developing the Hull House in Chicago, Illinois. According to Dutchlion, Genachte, & Stevaert (2009), “It quickly developed into a real action centre with plenty of room for children, education for adults, culture and focus on social progress”.
The research utilises a qualitative approach, combining media / visual research methods. The paper is set out to: Understand and explore the representation of social work in Albanian media and news reports Inform and elaborate an understanding of current discourse about social work’s role and need in the country. Contribute to further research on the value, purpose, need and future of social work. Purposive sampling was used (Williman, 2006, Mathewes and Ross, 2010) for the selection of the news and media outlets for the research, as well as to form a small focus group to read and discuss the selected news outlets and their representation of the social work.
In the social work class 202: Group and organizational behavior, we were expected to complete a group assignment in arranged groups by the professor. For the project a model agency was expected to be made from scratch, or branched off an existing agency. To complete this assignment to the extent asked by the professor, communication and organization were critical elements between group members. After finishing my project with my allotted group members, I can reflect to analyze roles and leadership aspects, communication between group members, challenges faced, the efficiency of meetings, and an overall assessment of my groups success.

Social work is often divided into three broad practice categories: micro, mezzo and macro. Micro social work deals directly at an individual level, mezzo social work involves smaller groups or institutions, whereas, macro social work involves large scale intervention at a community level. In this paper, focus shall be laid on social work practice at the macro level and therefore the emphasis would be given to communities. However, the paper shall restrict itself to only one community and would try covering the nature and various other aspects of it. INTRODUCTION-
During my interview with my friend, Breanna Willis, I was practicing my skills as a social worker and she was my client. Throughout my interview I was able to gather information from Breanna, to see what was going on with her and help find a goal plan. My documentation will include preparation for the interview, a self-critique of the entire interview, and feedback from my interviewee. More so, this interview was to better help me form into a better social worker and let me know the corrections I need to work on for any future interviews I may have as a social worker.

I feel that my education at the University of North Texas has prepared me for a career in social work because it gave me opportunities to branch out of my comfort zone and become familiar with multiple populations of people. Before entering the BSW Program at UNT I was set on working with the geriatric population. I had worked with geriatrics before and was very comfortable with them, forming connections was easy, and I felt this was the population I was meant to be working with. Once I was accepted into the program though I learned that just because I had experience and was comfortable working with this specific population, it didn’t mean I had to continue working with them. My professors provided us with many opportunities to learn about and become familiar with many different populations.
