I’m researching for college and I’m nervous because I’m technically already in college, thanks to the Early Middle College program. I’m currently in the Culinary Service program through Lake Michigan College, and taking a table service class this semester. I’ve chosen the culinary major for several reasons. I prefer something that’s close to home because there are many advantages to being close to home such as transportation, food, and other necessities. I would prefer medium to small size schools because they are big enough to offer a variety of things, but not so big to get around in. There are approximately 4,300 students enrolled at LMC. MCTI and GRCC are approximately the same distance away from Saint Joseph. MCTI offers dorms and apartments, but there are only about 333 students enrolled there. At GRCC there are about 15,000 full time students enrolled. They don’t offer housing of any kind so you are on your own to find housing in the Grand Rapids
