Gun Control "About 34,000 people were killed by guns in this last year, about 93 people a day in the U.S." (Ingraham and Johnson). Current gun laws allow anyone at the age of 18 or older may own a gun after purchasing it. This is possible because of the second amendment which is the right to bear arms. The second amendment should be stricter because the U.S. has the highest mass shootings in the world, guns death are higher than ever and improving guns will not prevent deaths. High tech guns are not the answer to the mass shootings in American. “Smart gun tech with many proposed smart systems would actually make us less safe”(Stokes). Gunfights, and criminal activity is the reason it's more likely to get killed in the U.S by a gun. The chance of suicide is higher if a gun is easily accessible than if the gun is put away and lock up. There is not enough punishment going to those who shoot guns in public. American broke a record that should have not been broken. “A new study shows 35% of the mass shooting in the world happen in the U.S and the U.S makes up only 5% of the world. A big reason why American is the highest in gun shootings is because American has the highest gun ownership in the world. This is because 65% of Americans believe the right to bear arms is to protect themself in a tragedie. It is not wrong to own a gun but it is not safe for American to have the most gun shootings. The right to bear arms is hurting america by; causing U.S to have highest gun shootings, guns are advancing, many people are being killed. America is a good country, but America needs to work on their gun violence and ownership.
