Over the last decade mass shootings have become more likely and a much larger issue than ever before. Mass shootings have been on the rise whether they occur in schools or out in public places like movies or malls. But why have the number of mass shootings recently increased ? President Donald Trump stated in an interview that one of the biggest reasons these massacres are happening is because of the negative influence that video games, movies, and media is leaving on young adults. Trump's idea was to incorporate a new and improved rating system for video games and movies. Meanwhile a Rhode Island state representative stated that he wants to put a tax in violent games and use the tax money for helpful cause. After taking in these claims I agree with President Trump and the Rhode Island …show more content…

President Trump claims that video games and movies have the largest negative impact on young adults. Most of the recent shootings have been committed by young adults in the high school age range. This range makes up most of the people who buy violent video games and , watch movies, and use and check media every minute. He believes that they are exposed to killing and there is no punishment. In video games there is reward. He also claimed that movies should be more strict because if there is sex then it is rated R. But if there is no Sex but killing its just PG-13. I agree with both statements that Trump said. Video games have a connotation of no punishment.
