Media is Distracting
The world is becoming more and more technologically advanced. Along with the new technology, many great things are happening, such as new ways of saving lives in the medical field and new sciences being discovered, but to every good thing there is always an opposite. Because of this increase in advanced technology, media is becoming more advanced and media is distracting to everyone who encounters it, which leads to obesity rates rising, people not spending as much time in nature and stretching their minds, and people not being as social with one another. Don't get me wrong, increases and technology are great, but every great thing there is a negative in return.

According to Medical Daily, “ A new study recently found that the obesity rate in America has nothing to do with the amount of calories that we consume, but rather the lack of exercise that many people are now getting. While this might be true, and even bigger anniversary of the American diet is technology. According to the data from the national health and nutrition examination survey, researchers from Stanford University found out from 1994 two 2010, the number of physically in active American women grew from 19.1 to 51.7%. As for the man, their numbers went from 11.4% in 1994 to 43% in 2010.” Yes, eating fast food is not good for you, but that is not the sole purpose of why there is such a high obesity rate. It is from the lack of exercise due to the amount of time people spend using media each day. The average person burns about 20 cal every 15 minutes by just sitting and either watching TV or playing on the phone but if that same person were to walk for just 15 minutes then they would burn three times that amount if not more. The fact is that if a person was not to be on their phone or using any other kind of media in order to do anything semi active they would burn countless more calories and not gain The extra weight that just sitting would
