Medical Marijuana Ever wondered what marijuana did to your body if you ingested it? Well, it can cause shortness of breath, vomiting, and or nausea, and disorientation. These are only a few of the side effects, but imagine what would happen if you took it every day. And you think it’s supposed to help you? 28 states of the 50 have it legalized. An example of this is West Virginia. They just legalised in 2017. Medical marijuana should not be illegal because it causes lung cancer, it is considered contraband throughout several national governments, and it’s a close second to becoming the number one used drug among college students. According to the federal law marijuana is considered contraband and by federal law, we destroy contraband(galent.galegroup.com). Even Australia's government official, Amhed Fahour, says “Medical marijuana is illegal for both scientific purposes and for recreational purposes” (How to do drugs right). Also, there are no FDA approved medications that are smoked, it is difficult to administer it safely (Medical Marijuana). Students could misuse it and overdosing on marijuana, or “greening out”, could cause all kinds of symptoms, such as hallucinations or disorientation, shaking that is hard to control, and shortness of breath(http://solutions.cengage.com/incontext/opposing-viewpoints/). Taking a drug could make the students are not able to focus on their schoolwork, which would cause them to get kicked out of college, thus ruining their future. If a college student starts taking this drug, they could get addicted to it for a longer time and also ruin how they talk or even how they think it could also draw people to use more powerful and/or harmful drugs(http://solutions.cengage.com/incontext/opposing-viewpoints/). If a college students get a hold of this they could misuse it and could cause addiction. Those who support the use of medical marijuana will argue, using medical marijuana could lower your pain.
