In my written communication, the content of the first three chapters of the book, I found a few things that would be helpful. In chapter one, the main idea was to always start with what others say. The best quote that I found was “remember that you are entering a conversation and therefore need to start with what others are saying” before starting an argument (p. 20). One helpful thing that I learned was to try to start of with what the other person is saying by using a few given templates in the text. Then, in chapter two, it was all about the art of summarizing.
