Having art classes in schools affect a few people. The primary stakeholders are students, teacher, and parents. But students are the most important because they will benefit from art.
Students are the primary stakeholder because they are the primary purpose why teacher want to teach in a classroom. Students are the main benefits of having the arts in the classroom. Since the arts will help students reduce the stress, they will be the principal stakeholders.
The teachers are the important stakeholder as well because they are responsible for including art in the classroom and their lesson plans. School district is important because they are the primary support for schools and teachers. As well parents trust the school district with supporting their children. According to Creedon (2011), "A study in Chicago shows that up to 50% of the city's urban youth suffer from various levels of depression and that up to 10% suffer from other emotional illnesses (VanLandeghem 2003)" (p. 34). Because of all the stress that students have at home or in their environment is important for schools to include art in the classroom. Schools are an essential part of students' lives. Schools should face children's stress and problems and help them become better in their academic. However, if schools want to implement the arts in the classroom, they should have materials, for example, tables, white paper, paint, instruments, etc. But most of the schools already have furniture that's is the most expensive for schools. According to Kramer (2010) "if you do not already have a table that can use for this purpose, durable tables are available from library vendors such as DEMCO for less than $200" (p. 32). School districts adding the arts might be costly, but they will get rewarded by seeing the improvement in the students. Overall, adding the arts will benefit schools and students.
It is important that the district has the money to include art in schools. Besides having money is important visibility because parents will want the school to have the art as soon as possible because it will help their children increase stress. It would be visible to the parents and students the art will bring test score up, and it will help students reduce stress. Eventually, school administration would be happy to make the right decision on adding arts in the curriculum because it will help children perform better and to inspire children to come to
