Art programs are important to a student´s average school day, they are time amidst the school day that a student can feel as though they are in their element. A time throughout the day where they can relax and be themselves and focus on something they truly enjoy. Classrooms across America are facing budget cuts, unfortunately this causes the products that these classrooms use to below quality and the classroom are not able to support the students they have. These programs should not be cut from schools because they help students academically, socially, and developmentally. From a young age schools and parents have used art programs to help students learn, whether it be with singing to help memorize words or matching pictures to a story.
I once read a quote pertaining to art. The quote reads “the object of art is to give life shape” by the famous philosopher, William Shakespeare. Not only is his claim accurate, but completely relatable. From experience, I know that a young artist does not need knowledge nor empathy to create a piece.
I used to think finding art therapy meant I had found my calling, but this calling requires a deeper exploration. A career in art therapy looks very different depending upon the population, setting, and my role. To understand why I want to become an art therapist I need to fully understand my ideal art therapy career as well as any assumptions I am making about my career. I fantasized about how perfectly art therapy integrated my career goals with my ideal self. Through the art, I could finally capture and see my art therapy dream.
What would the world look like if schools stopped teaching the fine arts? As the years have progressed, the funding for schools has started to deplete. With the depletion of money in the schools, this led to many teachers losing their jobs and many programs being severely underfunded or even being cut. States such as Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Arizona have struggled with having decent teacher pay and proper funding for their classrooms. This leaves the students with improper tools to be able to learn with inside of their classrooms.
As a young boy my two main pastimes were cricket and drawing so naturally, when I wasn’t outside playing cricket I would spend a lot of time making sketches of the mango tree in our yard, the mysterious house next door, and some cheeky caricatures of our neighbours. I continued to pursue my interest in art at school and it was during an ordinary art lesson that my teacher, Mr Degroot said something that I still remember to this day. He said, "In order to paint what you see you must
The therapist never critiques the client’s work. After a client has finished his or her artwork, the therapist may ask the client to interpret the art, linking it to current issues and events in his or her life. This increases awareness of self and others and promotes personal development and coping
Taylor Del Real Instructor Mendoza English 2 19 June 2023 Art Being Used Against the Artist Jumping to conclusions and staking claims with assumptions is a deadly game that could escalate if not kept in check. The limitations of free speech have been tested as rappers’ lyrics have been used against them as evidence of their guilt. The assumptions made by prosecutors about the origins of lyrics often paint a false narrative of the defendant and negatively impact their case. Rap music is an influential medium for artistic expression, capturing cultural, social, and personal experiences.
Children do have the right to participate in artistic expressions. Having the opportunity to engage in the arts, whether it be art class or music, allows a child to express themselves in a different form. This can be very good for children who have a hard time expressing themselves socially to others. It can be very therapeutic to many children, hence the reason why many family therapist will use art as a way to help a child reveal their thoughts and feelings. Another big reason why children should be able to engage in artistic opportunities is because letting children experience art, in any form, will help them to develop their imagination as well as their creativity.
Graphic Design has always been an ever evolving and changing field. Graphic design-like activities can be found throughout history like the ancient cave paintings or the manuscript of the Middle Ages. As the true purpose of graphic design is to communicate, technology has since made this process more effective, extending the reach and spread of information. This allows graphic design to have a higher level of impact that cannot be achieved without the use of technology.
Fine arts is the practicing and performing of visual arts, theater, choir, and many more. This is taught in separate class rooms to all students who are enrolled in private schools of the arts in California. This just means that in California private schools of the arts, students are given the opportunity to learn anything and everything they need and want about fine arts, and they get the chance to practice it. However, private schools of the arts aren’t always an option for those who want to participate in fine arts because of the costs. Therefore, fine arts need to be offered in all public schools as well ( “Status of Arts Education in California Public Schools” ).

In the article, “Art Therapy in a Socialization Program for Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder,” a group of children with ADHD used a combination of group discussion and art activities to help them with their struggles with ADHD. However, it did take some time for the group facilitating this program to be able to get the children to think about what they were struggling with and how to portray that through the use of art. Before they actually started their artwork, the group of children were involved in what was called a “friendship circle” where they talked with their peers about what they were struggling with that day. If they had a hard time getting the conversation going, the leader would have them do a little artwork to be able to help them explain what they were having a hard time talking about. This artwork was the bridge to help the
A person who has strength in both logic and creativity has always been praised as an enriched mind. Understanding art can bring about emotions and thoughts that can be both positive and harmful. It is easily understood, then, that these feelings can affect our decisions and actions in real life. The art can, therefore, become animate or alive, in a sense. The viewer causes a manifestation of the inanimate art from the paper or the stage or the canvas into a new and living creation.
