Right now, athletes are being paid millions of dollars to play a sport. Many people believe that they should be paid less, but I think their pay should stay the same. Their pays should stay the same, because we help the industry by going to games and athlete’s health is at stake. The first reason why athletes should not get a pay cut is that we help their industry out. A major sports league are billion dollar companies that pay their athletes fractions of what the company earns. The companies make all of their money by us, the fans. If we don’t ever show up to events, then the company will lose money and the athletes will get pay cuts. However, this does not happen. As fans, we want to represent our team and spent lots of money to entertain ourselves. These billion dollar companies will make more and more money which will give the athletes more money too. We cannot complain that athletes are making too much money if we contribute to their earnings. The second reason why athletes pays should not be cut is that they put their health at stake. Throughout years, athletes get injured frequently and it can take a toll on their bodies. Even though athletes make millions of dollars, they do not get full health care and most the time will have to pay for it all. Some injuries can cost up to 70,000 dollars.
