George Herman Ruth Jr. or also known as Babe Ruth is one of the best baseball players of all time. Babe is know for his baseball skills. He is also recognized for his attitude on the field and off the field for being one of best players of all time. He became so popular for getting into the Major League Baseball (MLB) at the age of 19 in 1914 and hitting a homerun that broke a legend's record. In fact, he didn’t have it easy. He was a bad kid who always got in trouble and was in a orphanage for 12 years until he was 19.
Babe Ruth was born on February 6, 1895 in Baltimore, Maryland. Babe was poor and he never had enough to eat. He didn’t listen to his parents and did drugs and made other bad choices. His family owned a tavern which led him to do drugs. A tavern was a place where people sold beer and other alcohols. Babe chewed tobacco, drank and taunted local police officers. Since he was such a bad kid, his parents sent him to St. Mary’s Industrial School for Boys which is also an orphanage. He stayed for some years. He had the most years leading a league with home runs(12), most total bases in a season(457), and highest slugging percentage for a season(.847). He also hit 714 home runs until 1914 when a baseball player broke it. As you can tell he was famous for his baseball and turning around his life as a bad kid and adult. He traveled everywhere. He traveled to Maryland, Baltimore, New York, and Boston Massachusetts. The people that influenced him is the Yankees, Red Soxs, Brother Matthias, Orioles, and Jake Dunn. He even got lots of awards. He won 4 Major League baseball Championships. He was one of the first five people to get into the hall of fame and he held four records.
