Books should not be banned and the people of society should have the ability to read and write about different experiences of life. Banning books restricts children and young adults the freedom to express the author and express their thoughts and feelings. A lot of books that are banned can limit people's exposure to different people's viewpoints on certain things, and by banning that you are taking away that exposure that students and adults can have. Characters in a story have the biggest influence on people, some characters look like Luke Skywalker who’s a hero and shows people that anything is possible. Luke didn’t do it on his own, he had help from good influences and teachers along the way to help him on his journey. The better the influence people have to help guide them, the better their influence on people will be. “Iron sharpens iron” is an old saying and it’s a true saying about how good influences and good people will make each other and the world a better place for everyone. The Outsiders is a timeless classic with good lessons to be learned and help improve our lives today in society.
