The Importance of Free Enterprise
Bill Gates is, like many other famous entrepreneurs, also known for his philanthropic activities. He has donated very large amounts of money to charitable organizations and scientific endeavors. He is the principal founder of Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft expanded into applications software and continued to grow. Before that, however, Gates was a hard-working child. He succeeded in many of his subjects and by the time he was an adult, he enrolled at Harvard University, thinking of pursuing a career in Law. he accomplished things in life by not by inventing new technology, but by taking existing technology, adapting it to a specific market, and then dominating that market through innovative promotion.
To begin with, Gates was a hard-working child with many dreams, like many other children. Bill was a voracious reader as a child, spending many hours poring over reference books. With his passion for software development, he led the company and worked as its spokesperson. Gates personally reviewed every line of code the company shipped. Microsoft's growth exploded. Staff increased from 25 to 128. Revenue shot up from $2.5 million to $16 million. As the computer industry began to grow, with companies like Apple and Intel were developing hardware and components, Bill was continuously out on the road touting the merits of Microsoft software applications. He impressed IBM by convincing them that he and his company could meet their needs. The only problem was that Microsoft had not developed the basic operating system that would run IBM's new computers. Gates was later sued for withholding important information, but thankfully, he picked his company back up and made it bigger than it ever was. It was grossing all over the
