Summary
One of the serious issues in America is bullying for age groups 11-18, boys and girls. Bullying is unwanted behaviour meant to hurt or frighten someone on purpose and is repeated behaviour. The common types of bullying is verbal bullying, social/relational aggression bullying and physical bullying. Bullying can lead to suicide and can also cause negative health problems such as anxiety, depression, stomachaches and headaches. Bullying can also have a negative impact on school such as getting poor grades, skipping school and having a hard time concentrating in school . Bullying is a huge issue in America and bullying is often caused in the teen age group in America.

Bullying has changed over time in negative and positive ways. Bullying has improved because awareness has increased with media coverage on bullying. Also, parents are starting to pay more attention to bullying as it has become a more serious issue and people are starting …show more content…

Answer: Research shows that when children use threatening ways to manage bullying situations, they tend to experience lengthy and more serious bullying interactions as a result.

How do bullies select their targets/victims?

Answer: Bullies select their victims in many different ways such as the target being popular, showing independence, unpopular kids, kids that are likely to not be defended, students that are LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender), the bully being jealous of their victim and many more.

How does bystanders feel when they see bullying?

Answer: Some bystanders feel like joining the bullying, some of them are scared because they are afraid that they will become the new target, some feel like it’s none of their business and decides not to step in and some feel like they won’t change the situation too much.
