Business Case Study: Daytun's Business Strategy

Daytun Inc. started in 1980 in the London market as a copy of Xerox. Daytun builds upon the currently structure of copier sales, while adding service maintenance contracts. By focusing on strategy and creating a different mindset in this industry Daytun was able to overtake the London marketplace and securing its customers for the next several decades. Daytun has taken its success in the London and worked plans to increase revenue and level of services to the copiers it’s distributing. Overall growth in this area is attractive in an environment to build copies and copies of there business model around Ontario. The environment for Daytun has grown and includes the areas around London. However, in this area Daytun doesn’t operate in solo, the competition includes Xerox, Canon, Sharp and a few minor other companies. Currently Daytun is the largest player with 30% customer base which has earned them the name “mini-Xerox” with the 85-90% customer satisfaction. In this forward movement they will be able to improve the sales they currently have with customers and attract new ones due to the clear difference they offer. Building off of the successes with the University of Western Daytun has bright plans that will drive growth. The current market that Daytun sits in is a positive one was they have well branding in one location and opportunity to develop farther out, with this development in the areas around London Daytun should with easy duplicate their models for success. Its because of these factors that I strongly believe in Daytun future market place and share as something its competitors should be worried about in the London and greater Ontario
