Capitalism is an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state. In this documentary it's revealed how capitalism negatively affects America and why it's a problem. I found the documentary, Capitalism: A Love Story very interesting. I knew little to nothing about capitalism and and learning about it through a documentary that had bits and pieces of humor with an overall serious message was captivating. Overall it was good. All movies have their flaws and this one is no different from the rest. Capitalism as an economic system seems to benefit the wealthy and not the middle and lower class. It's based on a system that makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. Mortgages are a good representation of this, You get money from putting a bank’s name on your property while paying them at an interest that gets higher and higher until you can’t afford it anymore and the bank will take your home. Capitalism could be replaced with a socialist democracy but would this and how would this work in America? Education is the base for modern society. Higher Education equals better paying job which equals more money and- as most already know the world runs on money. The smoother schools run the easier getting an education would be and with the state of the school system in America right now it's not looking good. Another example could be jobs in a America. Many jobs are being taken away especially for factory workers when the owners move the factories to different countries that can pay their workers less per hour. These companies shouldn’t be able to do this because it takes away these jobs purely for
