Stealing money and giving it to the needy isn’t anything new. Ashleigh knew her dad needed that money so she stole it from her mother. Although this may not be the right thing to do, Ashleigh still stole the money for her dad because she prefers her dad over her mom, and her dad made her feel special.

A major reason Ashleigh took the money was because she prefers her dad over her mom.
One detail to prove this is that her dad is a nice person from the quote, “I saw a woman stranded on the road.” he’d say.”So I changed her tire for her.” Or he found a wallet with the ID intact, and returned it in person to its owner.” With a kind person like him no wonder she would take the money. Second of all, her mom doesn’t even like her name, “... but she just called me Ashleigh-a name she didn’t even like- and never promised me anything.” Naming her something you don’t even like is an insult to anyone. And finally, Ashleigh’s dad gives her privileges that her friends don’t have, “My friends’ fathers, they just tell my friends to study more. They never tell them they have flair or style.” With a father like that it is clear Ashleigh would prefer him over her mother.

“Give or take,” Dad said.” So Ashleigh knows he need that money badly. Also, he is poor to the point where he can’t repay them by himself, “Can you afford it?” I asked. “For a special date with my daughter?” he replied” Ashleigh’s father is acting like what most people know as going out to eat, is a special date at a diner which have low prices to begin with.And third, he acts desperate for money, “No, I just thought maybe you could borrow the money. Just for a day or two, until I straighten out all my finances.” Since Ashleigh knows her father needs this money she took the money to give it
