Program goal, vision, mission statement Violence against children has occurred in many countries such as Cambodia, Haiti, Kenya, and Tanzania. More than 1 billion children are victims of child violence and it has been increasing each year. The first step to preventing violence is to understand its magnitude, nature, and consequences of the issue (CDC, 2016). The occurrence of abuse in children is very high, but are often unnoticed due to fear or discrimination. Together for Girls is a global public-private partnership that is dedicated to end violence against children, with a focus on sexual violence against girls. It was founded by the CDC Foundation Board Member and former Chair Gary Cohen (CDC Foundation, 2017). The goal of this organization is to promote a balance between ending sexual violence through policies and programs. The mission of this organization is to mobilize and sustain a global movement to end human rights violations. It focuses on the public health impacts and long term individual and social consequences associated with violence against children, especially against young girls (TGF, 2017). The vision of the program is to end violence against children, with a focus on violence against young girls. This will achieve justice, health, and prosperity for all youth. The world should be a place where children are safe, empowered, and protected (TGF, 2017). Children should not be facing any type of violence, exploitation, or abuse at a young age.
