Sophie is living her day to day life as a 400lb. 14 year old girl. Ever since she was born, she was always being bullied because she wasn’t one of the skinniest girls. She is very unhealthy and wants to change, but is having a difficult time with her eating habits. The government wants to find ways to help Sophie but her mom believes she can solve it on her own. One day Sophie woke up in the middle of the night, having a tough time breathing. Her parents rushed her to the hospital and her heart stopped before they could make it. Obesity is a huge problem in the world and kids these days are living shorter lives than their own parents. This story is not uncommon. Obesity has been a problem in our life for many of years. To begin with, people who agree say that this is an important step to fighting childhood obesity. Positively, the "Let's Move!" Program helps the dispersal awareness of the issue significance and give out the implements to the parents and children to help fix the obesity problem ("Childhood Obesity"). This proves that people care about our community and want to help stop the issue of obesity. Also, those who support helping the obese community believe that not all parents can overcome problems on their own and need help. Surprisingly, the government has a way to help the parents that are having a hard time with raising an obese child and now they can try stop that from certain eating habits and exercise ("The Fight Against Obesity Begins Early"). This evidence shows that the government is trying to help the parents in need that don’t have as much money as others and provide as much to help the children.
