I have a weighted GPA of 3.9 and I 'm 48 out of 170 Brevard students for my class rank. I received an invitation my sophomore year to apply to the NHS. In high school regular core classes I took honors and one AP class a year. I took this class to preae me for collage class becasue they are hard then the regaule ones. I have lerand more conxplet topic than those taugh in the regaulr class.
Reflecting on the past seven weeks I have acquired countless knowledge, which I will use to further strengthen my profession as an Advanced Practice Nurse. The course allowed me to think beyond my current practice knowledge and acquired innovative ways to evaluate the situation at hand. The learning objective in program outcome four helps set standards that I will use to guide my clinical practice to meet various healthcare needs. Using the case studies has helped to further enhance my knowledge on disease physiological state, using differential diagnosis, disease manifestations, and clinical presentation. It has also taught me the skills on how to differentiate between similar diagnoses to properly identify the problem and treat the patients.
In my practice, I mostly work alone. Have my own room that is strictly used by me and also have my own instruments as well. However, on rare occasions, I do have assistants helping me with retraction or suction that is very helpful when the patient is difficult to handle. Before I started using the “leaf” HV saction, I did get help during sealant placements. Now, I can do it all without assistant and pretty quickly too.
Question 1 With the attending of my first experience of the ASCS programme I immediately realised that this will be an exciting path of self-discovery with opportunities for personal growth and development. In preparation for this experience we were given articles by Daniel Goleman and Kevin Cashman as pre-reading and also had to complete the Enneagram questionnaire. The key learnings that I gained from the article “Why Professionals Need Focus” by Daniel Goleman are the 3 types of focus that needs “sharpening” and which are important in both our personal and work lives.
This week I met with a social worker at Cherry Health which is located a few blocks from Heart of the City. When I met with the social worker we did a role playing exercise. She played a client that was experiencing depression and sadness. In addition, she role played as a client that she typically work with at the agency and I role played as the therapist. I enjoyed the role play because I was able to receive feedback about my progress.
Reflection of clinical experience The FCC core concepts were applied throughout my day, I was open and honest with the mother and father regarding any information I provided to her about the infant or herself. I encouraged participation with care of the infant, only if they felt comfortable. No judgements were placed on the knowledge they already had, as I respected the skills they had and built on those skills in hopes the parents would feel more confident in their parenting approach.
Having recently graduated from a Postgraduate Diploma in Education I am aware of the benefits of reflecting to continually improve your practice. However, I have become complacent in my efforts to do this on a continuous basis. This course has allowed me to re-evaluate where I am as a teacher, and where I want to be and how I want to avoid becoming trapped in the “ritualized routines of teaching” (Nuthall 2005, p.925). Over the last few weeks I have been keeping a reflective diary, recording aspects of my teaching and my analysis of the literature I have been reviewing. Rationale
I started out my Managed Care career at a health clinic that specialized in providing quality service to the Medicare, Medicaid, CHP, and indigent population. To date this has been my most satisfiying job as I truly felt that I too was contributing to the patient care by doing my small part. I think JenCare will allow me to feel that same type of pride in my
During a clinical shift, I would be responsible for providing care to patients with malignant hematological diseases, completing pertinent assessments and teaching skills, such as how to care for the mouth when experiencing mucositis and how to avoid infections. Self-reflection on Professional Practice All nurses registered in the general and extended classes are required to complete their self-Assessment every year. Self-Assessment is a self-directed, two-part process that results in a learning plan (CNO self assessment 2018). Through the process of self-assessment, you identify your areas of strength and learning needs (CNO
Introduction This essay is a reflective piece of writing about the critical indecent of a medication error that occurred during my placement. It is a very concise piece of writing due to limited word count of 1500 words. Duke and Appleton (2000) did a literature review and devised a framework of critical reflection, which illustrates eight stages as compare to Gibbs’s (1998) reflective model that consist of six stages. I chose Gibbs reflective model not only it is easy to comprehend but also to illustrate a critical incident.
Client-centered therapy is unique in that it makes me feel connected to my clients on a person-to-person basis. This form of therapy places me in a conflict between my values and emotions. As a therapist, I would need to separate my client 's behavior from their persona, and I would need to address them as an individual not defined by their actions. From my perspective, it would be difficult to display unconditional positive regard to a client that has committed many harmful and violent crimes. I do like certain aspects of client-centered therapy and one day
This clinical experience has really helped me to sharpen my communication skills and realize just how important it is to understand mental health. We are told multiple times in class that mental health issues can be seen on any floor and that is the truth. I’ve seen patients in my older adult clinical on the pulmonary floor suffer from issues that range from anxiety to bipolar disorder and depression. Being able to understand how to approach people that suffer from these types of illnesses, allows us, the nurses, to give the patient the best care that we can. It helps to build a trusting relationship and get to know them on a personal level.
In this reflective essay, I am going to discuss all about myself and my values, the skills required to be a good social care worker, why I chose social care, what I hope to gain from doing social care and where I hope to go with my degree. To be a good social care worker we must be self-aware. This is important as we cannot help other people deal with their emotions if we are not self-aware of our own emotions. To be self-aware according to (Burnard,1992, p.216) means that ‘it’s a process of getting to know your own feelings, attitudes and values. It is also about learning about the effect you have on others’.
Over the past one and half month, the class of PDE 502 (Counselling and Career Education) has taught me some major lessons for life in dealing with the clients in response to their emotional needs. The role of a counsellor is not unlike that of a friend where by it is nurtured by being in each other’s company, talking over everyday issues and sharing feelings. However, what sets a counsellor apart is their experience and the ability to apply counselling theories and techniques to assist people in gaining awareness, insight and explore ways of solving their own issues.
Professional reflection As I began my field experience journey, I learned many roles and responsibilities as elementary teacher. My duration in the field was nine weeks. I began training at E. R. Dickson. I developed a great working relationship with the staff and parents in the community. I always knew teaching is my passion.
